Two-Day Intensive Digital Photography Workshop
Although Martin has now moved to New Zealand, he will be making periodic visits back to Jakarta to run his popular Digital Photography for Beginners courses.
The course will be run as a two day workshop designed for absolute beginners
as well as those already enjoying using their digital cameras. The course will
cover the basics of digital photography, such as file formats, resolution,
data storage, image manipulation, email and printing. In addition to the
digital topics, some conventional photographic techniques will also be covered
such as lighting and composition.
The first day will be classroom based and participants will be required to bring
their own laptop computers for the practical sessions. Students will learn how
to compress files for email, how to print photo quality pictures and how to
manipulate images in the computer. A light lunch will be included. The
workshop is held at Mitra Hadiprana gallery on Kemang Raya.

On the second day Martin Bennett will lead a daybreak field trip to a
market where students will have the opportunity to try out some of the techniques
learnt on day 1. After returning to the classroom for a late breakfast, images
will be viewed on a digital projector for discussion and manipulation
by the students themselves.

Participants must provide their own digital camera (one each) and a laptop computer
(Mac or PC) with Adobe Photoshop 6 or 7 preinstalled. No more than two students
may share one computer. Own transport is also necessary on day 2 for the field
trip. Minimum 6, maximum 8 participants.
Day one: 9.00am - 4.30pm
Day two: 6.00am - 1.30pm
US$170.00 for the two days inlcudes meals and refreshments.
